You took me to a mountain
You filled my every need
 Oh, the love that we once shared;
                                                       Is only known by you and me
                         You promised me the sky,
                                                       I took a deep breath,
                          And let out a sigh
                          You sheltered me:
                                                      In a place no one could touch;
                          I gave my heart to you:
                                                      I loved you, just a little too much;
                          I thought our love would never die;
                                                      I took a deep breath,
                          And let out a sigh
                          Then... you said, you must be free;
                                                      I will never understand
                          Oh, the pain was killing me;
                                                      I could never understand
                          Then, I saw you cry;
                                                      I took a deep breath,
                          And let out a sigh
                          It was the hardest thing to do;
                                                      With a lump stuck in my throat
                          The hardest thing I've ever done;
                                                       All my dreams went up in smoke
                          I had to say good-bye
                                                       I took a deep breath
                          And let out a sigh
