I want to understand this world

I want to understand the world, I am trying to find my way

while trying to figure out who I am, every single day

I know I'll never be perfect, but I want to be the best I can

I have come a long way from the place that I began

This world it can be crazy, people can be so unkind

I try to see beauty in the darkness, I use my own mind

I have walked across the shadow's, lifted my head high

sometimes along the way, I wanted to hang my head and cry

I won't be boxed in with bitter chains, a label is not for me

open your mind from humankind, set your spirit free

We may want different things but at the end of every day

a little love and understanding will always light the way

So what if they want to judge, does it really bother you?

It's a learning curve, one day they shall come through

For you are truly beautiful, so let your spirit shine

I'm happy you are in this world, especially in mine

I have given you my heart, I want to make you proud

I want to be your blue sky, and you my every cloud

Let's figure it out together, let's help light each others way

I want to understand this world, beside you everyday
