As time flies the faster, with each white hair and aged wrinkle I watch you grow

You bloom with each place to be and thing to know

With wide-eyed wonder you hang onto the words I utter like each is a jewel dropping into your expectant hands

And the intricate plans you make each day, ere work or play, span kingdoms and aΒ Β universe

You can't know the weight of your soul upon mine, nor the depth of my longing for you while I'm away

You're a hero, my son, and I love you
