Inside the mind a scar burns deep,
not a cut
not a graze
not one that lips may meet
a scar that haunts you in forgotten time
sitting bitterly in the depths of my mind
a scar that lingers hanging by a thread
like a spider coiled in its own spun web
for these scars are ones we cannot show
for these scars mean more than on can know
