I struggled these months to write poetry in your name,
Yet the moment you disappear, feelings rushed and writing came,
I lay at night through torture, wondering how we got here,
Succumbing myself through silly regrets, or fragile fears

Truth is I am heartbroken, in a way not felt before,
When the girl that you loved happens to live on next door,
So forgive me for silence; it helps bring me peace,
Time mends all pains, I will make this suffering cease

And as your eyes torment my dreams,
your laugh may be missing from all of these memes,
Your care, done up hair, dead-on stare through me beams,
And I appreciated every moment, as distant as I can seem.

I do wish the best for you, you're someone who deserves all,
But there's a reason they say that with love you must fall,
I made the mistake of sinking for a softball star
The lesson I've learned now is that they hit very hard,

Thank you for being a one of a kind,
And if we don't talk, I hope you don't mind,
I'll get over you, another love I will find,
Praise be to the girl, who once i'd call mine.
