You tear into me when I wake
When I think.
Eat.
Sleep.
You make me warm a while
then you go.
And I'm left to
pick up
  what's left.
Even though I know:
your pain
keeps
me
  alive.
So it can't surprise me when
it hurts even more
  each time you come back
because I can't
say

  no.
