A Broken Friendship

This is what we’ve come to After all these years For so long we were friends All I have left of it is tears There are things we want to change You know as well as I, We all make mistakes But why can’t you pass mine by? You’d think, after all this time, All those days spent together, That life wouldn’t be so cruel. And maybe friends could last forever. Of course it doesn’t work that way, No matter how much I wish it did. So I’ll say one more apology… Then farewell, I will bid. It hurts, the tears and the loss. I promise you it always will. But I really do need to move on. Though it’s like climbing the steepest hill. I wish you would come back, Though I don’t think it’s going to happen I regret what’s happened to us, How the happy memories now sadden.
