If god can see everything then can he see himself?
Does he ever take a look to see the power of his wealth?
And does he have some majestic mirror to which he turns his lofty gaze?
Or does he avoid his truth like the picture of Dorian Grey?
So does he even know himself if he so surely knows all else,
Doesn’t he even wonder about his own true health.
And if he never took the trouble to look and see his Dr. Jeykll,
Wouldn’t there be a chance that he could also be the devil?
In one hand holding doves of good and righteous people,
And in the other snakes, and souls of all that’s lost and evil.
Well if he really answers prayers then why not our criticisms?
If he did he’d realize that we’re no longer sightless pilgrims.
And it sickens me to I see “disciples” with words like deadly venom.
So then it surely seems to me that god is but a dreamed up phantom.
The earth sometimes shakes and shudders when armies march to his anthems.
The shear blood lost in the name of god proves he’s made of phantoms.
And if god ever saw himself he’d surely disappear,
Because every little piece of him would run away in fear.
