I look under the street
monsters dwell in unknown spaces
Fabrications of lost logic

I look toward the sky
see my forecast
Cloudy with a chance of church steeples

Dodge the pigeons
They congregate for what?

Concrete serves no comfort or nutrition

Just killing time with winged optimism

A *** at the L station said he stole a dead man's shoes

Awkward conversation with a badge

"How do you explain you didn't **** him?" he cries

"I only wanted his sneakers!"

His agitation was real

"No crime here officer"

Nodding my confusion I opted for a taxi

Yellow relief on a side street
Says hop in for a fee
A driver of Islam
Signs of apprehension

What a mixed up world we dwell in

When one stranger fears another

I say do not fear sir
I'm not one of them
We bleed the same
We need the same
I love you unconditionally

Made it to a house full of blues
Rhythm inside a sweat box
Feel at home in a freaks embrace
What's normalcy anyway?

Hotel rooms for crowding
Glass surfaces for smudging
Unknown mass distributes anxiety
Watch that fiend I say
He will steal your sanity

Fluids swapped for regret
Dawn dazed and depressed
Blinds don't hinder sunlight
or it's numbing exposure

Take a walk through a city I love
Faces flood forward
Peace in it's tide
I join the flow
Making my way
I see a new future looming into view
No time like the present
