The Soldiers Wife
Take my cup
Fill it up
Seagram's seven 7up
See a girl, take a chance
Ask her for a little dance
It might end in romance
Love her curves
Watch her swerve
She's way more than I deserve
We dance around
To hickhop sound
She drops it low down to the ground
Cut a rug all night long
We don't skip a single song
Band slows down she holds me strong
Ask her, girl where have you been?
She just winks at me and grins
Headed toward a night of sin?
Last song, soft and slow
I am lost inside our flow
Lights come on, it's time to go
She kisses me on the cheek
She blushes red and looks weak
Grins at me and starts to speak
I'm sorry, she says with a frown
My Husbands deployed on foreign ground
I needed a night to get unwound
I tip my hat and say my pleasure
This is a memory I'll treasure
send some prayers for good measure
A little peck, and she walks away
I think about her to this day
For the troops, again I'll pray
This one took an unexpected turn
