Couples swirling all around me,
Twirling and gliding,
Pale gowns glittering –
My isolation lasts an eternity.
Caged in the centre of this circle,
I can only gaze,
At this shimmering haze –
Splashes of love made purple.
Straining to be free,
The diamond sparkle isn't real,
Their eyes don't reflect how I feel –
The curtain falls away and I can see.
