My skin
thick like leather but tender
hearts sewn there by sharp needles in the shape
of dual question markes
reversed and entwined like lovers lacking answers
that they beg for
but there they are still embracing
still sown ragged, sore, and deep
and for the pain it took to put them there
I'll not rip out the stitches
that are
the hearts shaped like questions marks
that are part of me
To all the people who are part of me.
