A few words whispered sweetly
meant only for your ears
to inspire in you
what lies hidden
deeper within
behind burning desire
fiery, raging
seeping even through
each innocent gaze

It may not even be
known to you
the depths longing
yearns to replace
amidst flashing lights
life unfolding
with eyes wide open
as is seen
what's said to be
meant to be

How much more
what will it take
when will I have it
within my grasp
to show where darkness
leads a mind wandering
back to your sight
lasting just that time
weakening, each breath
breathe again
out, in
such life, but then
teasing dares motion toward
bitterness: the end
