It's about you again
As it always has been, you

And me and all of us
At the picnic table
Summer in the side yard
Seven games of hearts
In a row, you

Tell the story the one about the time you
Fell in the road, in front
Of a speeding truck
Your friends froze, but you
Heard a voice tell you
To roll roll and you did
And you lived, you

Tell the story
Everyone laughs, you
Light that cigarette and
Laugh too, through
Salem smoke you exhale
Quick glance at me
I see it, a flash, you

Wonder where that voice came from, and
Who was telling you to roll
Toward living
And you wonder if
Next time you hear it,
You'll pay as much attention.
