Mother

Watch me mother, how I fly, How I glide to the sky, To fetch the star above, To brighten the stars in your eyes. Watch me mother, how I sleep, How I peacefully try to dream, Of you resting your spent soul, And drifting to the land of a fragrance, so serene. Look at me mother, how I smile, How I cease time for a precious while, To stare at your tranquil visage, That makes me believe the world is free from vile. Look at me mother, how I stand unwounded, How I strive to make my heart sacred, As you divinely draw the dawn out of the horizon, See how I shed my mane of pride and hatred. Embrace me mother, tonight I am frightened, My vision is blurred and my day darkened, Shelter me tonight from these mortal frights, As I hide in your smile, my hopes brightened.
