There was always a part of you
That wouldn't let me through.
Your eyes?
Your heart?
Your mind--

To me it's still not clear.
It's like you couldn't hear
Through my tears
As I spelled out all the fear.
And now look at us here--

I've told you "what's wrong?"
In every way but in a song.
Now it's all just feeling wrong
And all my words are finally gone--

All of this fighting
Crying
Trying, but dying.
It's too hard for me to take.

I'm glad you're finally listening
But, babe, it's much too late.

You're listening way too late.
