The whisper of words
Across the distance of skylines
Are leaving you breathless.

Why do we have our head in the clouds only to leave our feet on the ground?
If we're to explore I want the adventure wholeheartedly.
Not a five minute trip to the grocery store.

We can't afford to lose what we already have.
But I have been left with nothing,
And yet I'm not content.
You speak with confidence that I have the best gift,
Because I will never know the feeling of loss or sorrow.

Yet all I feel is that I want to walk among the clouds and leave my head on the ground.
No more voices telling me lies,
No more judgement for who I've become.

The whisper of your words
Across the distance of skylines
Are leaving me in an echo
Of what I once was.
