The First Kiss

My heart is beating out of my chest

This close contact

is putting my self-control to the test

You made up some lie

Sure to endure me

Sure to intrigue me

And you were right

At this moment

I'm sure that you've got me

Now my hair is a mess

I'm bearing just me

You told me I look my best

But it's hard for me to see

Our minds are both racing

Your eyes, they catch mine

Silent and awkward

Oh please just pass time

Then you went for the kiss

A little off

You just missed

But it was perfect

Beautiful, brilliant

You put your bravery to the test

I was young, naive and innocent

But when you kissed me you meant it
