You called to tell me you missed me
Did you miss me
While you ran your fingers down her bare back
While she climbed into your bed after you finished texting me goodnight
While she threw her blouse onto your floor
Did you miss me
While I was begging you to choose me
While I cried in my bed for hours
While you told me I was nothing to you
You called to tell me I was someone you'd never forget
But do you remember
The way I smiled the first time you sang
The way I flinched the first time you screamed
The way your lips tasted after kissing her
Do you remember
The sound of me heaving on the phone
The patter of the rain the night you told me you loved me
The pitch of her voice as she moaned in your bed
The sound of complete silence after you described to me what her body felt like pressed up against yours
You called to tell me you needed me
And as true as that may be
I spent so many days, weeks, months
Picking up the pieces you left me in
That I am finally whole again
So you may need me
But I no longer need you
