Hope lies,
It flies to new places and dies.
Disguises the things you want
With dimpled cheeks eyes wide,
They cry, lids flutter sigh.
I see it there but it’s still not mine,
Just out of reach, just beyond my grip,
Fleeting from my fingertips.
Silent whispers fill the air,
Tell my failures I feel them there,
A sudden heartache,
Fear of doom,
Confessions given
To an empty room.
