A Better Day

by Cress

When I was a lad, I saw those that had, And those who had not. It would make me sad, It would make me mad, In my head, I thought. I want a better day. I need a better way To make this world today, A better, better day! As the years went on, I grew on and on, But life seemed to stay The same, one big con. Of who lost or won, One day, I will say. I want a better day. I need a better way, To make this world today A better, better day! I’ve grown old these days, Sitting by the bay. Life has gone and passed Me most far away. But, still, as I lay, I’ve but one line to cast. I’ve made a better day, I’ve found a better way That makes my world today A better, better day!
