As the day gives birth to the night
“Have faith” a voice whispers
The skies turn dark
And the only light I see
Is the reflection of the moonlight
In the river I am crossing
My eyes are too tired to look up
So I enjoy the reflection
As though she came down on earth
Just to make me company
I like the night
It’s the only time
I can hear what I think
And think what I really mean
As I cross the river
I enter the woods with no light
Even the stars are not to be seen
But I just continue forward
Till I reach the other side
“I have faith” I say aloud to the velvet skies
As the night gives birth of the new day
On the other side of the woods
