A Tied Soul
I fight with two sides of me
I trip up and miss a beat
At once blind and naive
Now believes there's more to see
Two people who meet
We greet but fight to not admit defeat
You are the best but because of me
It may very well seem it's never meant to be
Sparks of fury that subdue
A rage of desire
A forbidden love that's the hue
Of a living fire
We sit we fit we hit
It off like superglue
I play I stay I'm legit
Wondering why I can't be you
You crave this brave
Life that represents you
You behave like its a rave
Proving the sky is blue
I carry this different beat
That rings and sings when around you
I might be weak and feel the heat
But when I even think of you
I'm...
A little less blue
A little more like you
It's...
A little less of this twisted reality
A little more of that perfect fantasy
That living fire that arises inside
Does in fact continue to rage on
Despite many reasons to hide
I quietly fight a soul that tries to move on
A tied soul
Stuck between me and what I can be
