Oh, you saved me from my self!
Oh, I was so alone
and my heart
was so full of darkness
and shadows lived within my heart.
Oh, it seemed that I was
but a creature of shadows
and my eyes
had never seen the light of day.
As though I lived
in eternal night
and my heart was only
ice and steel
and I was but a dark and ****** thing.
Oh, but that was before
the blinding light of your love
shined upon me.
And all the dark things
that lived within me fled away.
For your love
had given birth to my soul anew.
And in that moment
I knew the meaning
for the being of my soul
and the meaning of all creation
and my heart shall forever beat
and my soul forever long
for you my dear love.
Oh, for without you
I know I am a worthless thing
condemned to live
this life of a shadow
in the bottomless grave
so icy cold.
Oh, your love
calls to me!
It draws me
as though it were
some silent siren!
Calls me ever into your arms
where I am saved
by the power of your love.
And I am become your slave
till the end of time
I know.
Oh, I know your love
keeps me safe
from the cold power
of this loveless world
and bathes my heart
in its warm glow.
Oh, I know
that though my flesh
maybe soΒ Β tattered and torn
that it hangs form my body
like ****** red ribbons
because of you
no power on earth
or in all this starry universe
can ever touch my soul
and can never take your love from me
and return me to the dark thing
that I was.
Oh, I give my love forever to you
for as long
as man can ever love woman
and woman can ever love man
and myriads of universes
and born and live
and pass away
you shall live within my loving arms
for as long as forever
shall ever be.
