Oh, what is life?
Is it but meat and bread?
Or is it but your bones and flesh?
Oh, if I cannot love
am I not but a mechanical thing?
And I harsh dry wind
would blow over lifeless
desert lands
within my soul.
Oh, I would but be a shadow
of the man that I am.
Oh, how you give such life
to my soul.
When you hold me
in your loving arms
and kiss my hungry lips
that so hunger for the love you give
then my soul
becomes like a lush garden.
As lush and fragrant
as the Garden of Eden
when the earth was young and new.
Oh, how you give life to my soul!
Oh, you fill my mind and body and soul
with a life so overflowing
that the bonds
of this poor mortal coil
cannot contain all my immortal passion.
Oh, my love for you is an eternal flame
that burns in the very center of my being.
And every fiber of me
sings you a love song.
For my heart is forever yours
as though it beats
with your blood
and not mine.
Oh, this love is an ever burning thing!
An ever burning thing
that will not let me rest
till I am forever
in your warm and loving arms
and safe within your love.
And my soul is forever burning
in my passion for you.
that drives me forever on
to win your love
or die in the shadows
of a loveless existence.
Oh, I seek the eternal blessing
of love within your arms.
For I know
there is no life without your love.
For as breath is to the body
so is your love ever to my soul.
And all the wealth of this world
can never outweigh
all the riches
I find in the love
that I seek from you.
Oh, how this heart
within my mortal coil
forever beats its love song
to you
for as long as forever
shall live.
