Jan 2012
the modern-day gypsy
has an ache
that can only be settled through
the open road

a few days with her
mother
the all-American lifeline
of peace
love
& cheap bourbon
should cure her ailments
even if the small
country town
has little else to offer
than
friends, drinks, and
withdrawals
from technology

she'll
be back soon
hopefully
with a fuller head
& happier things to write about

hopefully
