When happiness reached its peak I was with you
I know we’re so far away
I know what you said to me, and how you say you want things to be
I know that you’re not ready for a “you and me”
I heard you say that you’re sorry and for that you have my sympathy
But can’t you see?
You’re beautiful.

I’m up here on my pedestal left to daydream
Alone up on this pedestal that I want nothing more than to jump off of.

I would hate myself if I didn’t say anything
I would be a liar if I didn’t

When I said I want it to work, baby, I meant it
I don’t want to sit by and watch what could have been pass away.

I’m reaching out.
I want that second chance.
I’m just waiting on you to take it for me.
