The Midnight Show
Upon the blistering yawns
lures in the diminished haze
to dwell in black thickets.
Phantoms materialize.
making forest's floors comfortable
they billow gray fumes.
wise these silky heaps
bend low.
and swirls
Up above
the heavy drapes part
and reveal the moon...
her spotlight descends
lonely and dim,
past the gnarly lattice of dark trees.
And sweetly caresses the pastures.
In symphonic multitude
the brightened chirps
of crickets
rise and rings in the darkness.
The throaty croaks
of toads
masterfully drones the beat.
The trees rustle.
sound of leaves scraping,
blooms in full applause.
And.
Night waits.
Patiently.
for the show to begin...
Midnight Wonders
