A Poem

You asked for a poem, I'll give you my heart How to express? Where to start? A long time ago We watched the sun set And drank to the future I'll never forget. The world was at peace Sitting there with you In that moment of silence I finally knew Life carried on No evident apparition But the feelings I felt More than imagination Time passed as it does We grew older and wiser Secrets were shared Drawing us closer I wanted your touch I needed your love I prayed for compassion To the stars above I know you love me In your very own way But you asked for a poem This is what I say We're two pieces of a puzzle Destined to be joined Though perhaps not the fashion I had in mind Until the day comes When you choose yes or no And even past then I love you so
