I’ll never know why 2 AM is such
A bad time for sleeping. Guess no one likes
Crawling under their covers all alone.

Still, you think at some point I would have learned
That nine comes all too soon, demanding I
Crawl out into the world, because I must.

With or without you snuggled by my side,
I can’t face this life without some shut eye.
And yet the black behind my lids is cold.

When the sun comes in, I’ll beg to sleep in.
The clock says 2:29, I know, but
I’ll take a tired day over lonely nights.
I don't feel like this one is quite finished, so any suggestions would be appreciated.
