possibility
inside a conjurer's box
infinitely felt

hush from outside it
carefully like broken arms
so carefully now

she, an audience
callous, loving, drinking gal
gasps at every cue

the night's coup d'etat
what they all (that one) pay for
the lid is seized free

it's empty: applause.
but only because they don't
know where she has gone.
