It's hard to imagine
You were ever like that
Trusting hand holding mine
Stealing upward glances
Seeking guidance
as we negotiated a crowd
Back pack almost your size
Bobbing optimistically and up for the adventure
I'm sure if I think back
Rewind
Past the outbursts and accusations
Further now
Past the tantrums and machinations
Back some more
Past the therapy and medications
You are there, small and ready to bloom
