Oh, if I had wings!
Oh, if I only had wings
I would fly around this world
circle the earth
and search every corner
till I found you
and could hold you in my arms
forever and ever.
Oh, the ocean would not be wide enough
or the sky high enough
to keep me from you
and I would search for you
through this wide world
twenty times over
till I found your lovely form
and gave my heart to you.
Oh, you are the breath,
the breath that fills my lungs.
And oh how my heart and soul
would crumble into dust
if through the mist of time
I ever found your heart was never mine.
Oh, my heart belongs to you
and my soul belongs to you
and all that I am
in every corner of my being
belongs to you.
For my heart ever hangs on a hook
and is ever captured by you.
Oh, let not this love be in vein
and let my heart never suffer because of you.
for my life I would give
and all my being I would give
to feed my forever hunger
for the kisses of your lips.
And oh, how I shall long for you
for day without number
and time without end
till my body and soul
can find its rest
within your arms.
