May 2016
In a polished falsetto
About love gone awry
In bitter word pictures
Painted he the images:
a wild afternoon wind
Her skirts ballooning
As she sent him packing
The sun winked sadly
The milky way chuckled
A brooding hen cackled
And she gave him a smile
That buried him forever
Outside  her true annals
Just as his forlorn song
Faded in the empty distance
And so the sad tale ended
Even as it was starting
