Oh, the world without love
would be a dead thing,
only a mechanical clock
ticking away time.
Oh, you have put hooks in my heart
and pulled me
into the deep parts of your soul.
I was once a shadow
with substance
and without life.
But from a living death
you brought me to life
and the dead blood
that once flowed
through my dead veins
have returned to life.
And you have once again brought me into life.
And the dead blood
that once flowed
through my dead veins
now carry the force of new life
and that life I only live
through my love of you.
Oh, you are the life of the heart
that beats within my body
beating the blood of life.
Oh, my heart in its deep longing
ever grieves
when you are no longer there.
Oh, test me!
and I will show you
the love that lives in this heart.
Oh; I would die a million deaths,
each one just for you.
For your life is so much more precious
than any life I could ever live.
Oh, what meaning could it ever have
without you?
For I would live a death
that has a pain without end.
Oh, your heart is my path to life.
For your love brings me to life
and you shall live in my heart
as long as this eternity shall least.
