Sometimes I'm smart
But I feel mostly dumb

Sometimes I cry
But I'm usually numb

Sometimes I'm right
But I'm often most wrong

Sometimes I find beauty
In the screaming of a song

Sometimes I'm alive
But I feel mostly dead

Sometimes I'm out of my mind
Most days I'm stuck in my head

Sometimes I'm seen
But I stay out of sight

Sometimes I read
And sometimes I write

Sometimes I feel straight
Other days I'm not sure

Sometimes I don't know
If I'll make it to fourty-four

Sometimes I wish I was a gravestone in the grass
But all the time I remember
That I am more than that
