She's ready to leave and run away
She's had more than
Any 12 year old can take
So she decides to leave this life of abuse
She's tried before, but he always found her
So what was the use
But now it's gone too far
The bruises are too bad
And mommy won't believe her
So she plans her escape
Without looking back
She opens the window
Looking forward to freedom
The howl of the wind
Gives her the courage she needed
With her bag on her back
And her head held high
She ran as fast as she could
Without a regret in sight
She escaped her abuser
No more beatings to withstand
And mommy's husband
Never laid a hand on her again
