How Long Does It Take
How long does it take to see that everything is falling apart?
How stupid do you have to be to not realize that you've been damaged from the start?
What will it take to push you over the edge?
How much pushing will it take for it all to go to your head?
How many sleepless nights can you handle until you fall to the floor?
How many demons do you have to fight until you can't fight anymore?
How many tears does it take for you to see you're nothing but a mess?
How many terrible thoughts do you need to have until you consider them guests?
How empty do you have to feel until you don't believe you're really there?
How broken do you have to be to start screaming that none of this is fair?
How much do you have to hurt until you give up on everything?
What can you do to help yourself when you believe you're not worth anything?
How do you get rid of monsters when they're living in your brain?
What would you do to get rid of them to stop yourself from going insane?
Would you take a bullet to them even if it meant killing you?
How would you explain such a thing to someone who has no idea what you're going through?
Would you write them a song, a letter, or a poem?
Or would you tell them that you're headed to a better, safer home?
