We wade in the tidal pools of fright,
Fearing the waves that kiss the sky,
Wanting the shield of celestial light.

We dream of sailors and of their might,
Of waterfalls, flowing high.
We wade in tidal pools of fright.

We dance in the rain of an autumn night
That chills, then passes by,
Wanting the shield of celestial light.

We admire the fish and their admiral plight,
Where others are grounded, they venture to fly.
We wade in tidal pools of fright.

We touch our lips to fear as we struggle and fight,
Our bodies tell us to swallow and in vain, we try.
Wanting the shield of celestial light.

We leave the sea with desert in sight,
Pack our things and wave goodbye.
We wade in tidal pools of fright,
Wanting the shield of celestial light.
