Oh, I love you
and oh, the heart aches and suffering
for my love of you.
But oh, when it comes to my love for you
I cannot count the cost.
Oh, I would give you my body
to be all broken and torn.
Oh, all the tongues on earth
and above earth, and below earth
cannot tell of the depth of my love for you.
Oh, my heart is always bound to you
with tiny invisible strings
stronger than steel.
Oh, I would die of grief
if ever I lost you.
And I would die of a terrible loneliness
if I could never hold you in my arms
and tell you of how deeply I love you.
Oh, the heights of heaven, nor the depths of hell
is greater than my love for you.
Oh, how you are pure, and beautiful and good in my eyes.
Oh, I have never seen a creature so beautiful
in both body and soul
as you my love.
Oh, my heart ever tells me
all the day, and all the night
"How I love her. Oh, how I love her
Oh dear God, how I love her!"
Oh, how I have engraved you on my heart!
I love you to my hearts bursting.
This love of you
and this passion I have for you
it is hotter than the fire!
Oh, how it is hotter than any flame.
Oh, nothing you have ever done
nor anything you shall ever do
can strip the love of you from my heart.
But oh the pain and woe
that with a single word you can give
that would cut and burn deep into my heart and soul!
Oh, let me breath in your love and tender mercies
and hold you in my loving arms
and forever tell you of how I shall ever love
and my love shall ever last beyond the end of time.
