I'm not sure who first taught me that bullets hurt less than love but I wish they hadn't I wish they hadn't shown me a darker side of humanity. I wish they hadn't taught me about envy and greed I wish they hadn't shown me the second face of a kindly stranger I wish they hadn't filled my head with the harsh realities of the world I live in I wish they hadn't I wish I hadn't But I did And so this is my curse, to run towards the sound of gunfire to escape the words inside my head.
