Dec 2015
words like leaves on living vines
outstretched, hardening with time
branching thick, layered protection
reaching outward, seeking perfection
no defined path nor set destination
not riddled by need or preoccupation
truth mingles with fact and imagination
inspiration eclipsed through perpetuation
the unquenchable breeding of pollination
unstoppable need to complete the equation
extending until there's a lack of creation
blooming its wares, seeking adoration

casting a shadow, which blocks out the light
the foundation upon which we walk tonight
buried beneath, ones lost pleas to forget
entombing us within yesterday's regret
never to be unearthed, nor looked upon
entwined in filth and soil, hidden beyond
yesterday's unlived hopes and dreams
captured in prose, shoveled aside
buried deep, forgotten
dark, alone, rotten
