Raw
Today I tried
To fashion myself a new skin
With needles of my bone
And thread of my lashes
Oh, but for sloppy stitches and unraveling cloth
My cowardly hands
Weren't up to this task

So here I am, unwrapped and open
My edges blurring into colorless mist
Holding my beating heart in my hand
I will savor this ghastly red
Till it dies with the rest of me
