Oh, I am desperate for your love.
Oh, I have become a fool because of you.
A man full grown and love has made me a child
in my mind I imagine a thousand things and more
that can steal you away from me
and I worry that my jealous mind will drive you away
the things I do, the things I say
like a child in a man's body.
Oh, when I fear that I will lose you
such a dreadful fear takes hold of me.
Oh, how much more you are worth than all the treasures of this world!
Your life is my life and my life I live through you.
Oh, how I worry that foolish words will drive you from me.
Oh, let your heart be my home and we never to part.
For without love I am but dust and ashes
and my love I find in you.
My love for you is the song of my heart.
Oh, the blessed lord of creation made me
with but one purpose in mind.
To love you with all my might, heart and soul.
Oh, you are not only beautiful
you are beauty its self.
Beauty made living with a heart and soul.
Oh, parting from you I can never stand.
I would wither quickly like a butterfly in a fierce flame
its delicate wings singed into ash and dust.
Oh, if only I could keep you and protect you
from this cruel and thoughtless world.
Oh, the path of my destiny leads me I know not where.
But oh, if it leads me far from you
it is better that I had never been born
and no creature ever knew my name.
Oh, if you turn your heart from me
what pain it would be beyond belief!
That ravages and racks body and soul
and I am left with a great nothingness
a hole within a hole
through which my life leaks from a broken soul
my deepest fears come true
my heart in a deathless icy hell.
Oh, let us two dream of life without death
and create a future of life and love
and always find our home
in each others arms.
