She stares at him
He pretends not to notice
He looks up and almost catches her eye
But she quickly looks away
She will never let him hurt her
He will never hurt her
She stares at the ground
Daydreaming about the boy
Across the classroom
He watches her, falling deeper for her smile.

I watched from afar
I never fully understood
How two people could be
In love but not together.

As I watched the sunset in the bed of my truck
I wondered where does it go?
As I was pondering this
The moon came up
The birds stopped chirping
The wolves started howling.

The sun and the moon are deeply in love
One dies to see the other live
The other lives to see the one die.
They are in love but never together.
