Oh, you are the one constant in my life
as constant and sure as the north star.
the one sure foundation on which my heart stands.
Oh, before the world was
the lord and maker of all had a wonderful thought.
From the love in his great heart
formed you from a deep flaming passion.
You of perfection of line and symmetry
and full of beauty and grace.
You of whom the angels sing.
Oh, before heaven and earth was
the creator of all formed your soul
and beauty was your given name.
Oh, how you are more lovely
than all the things that in heaven reside.
Oh, you are more lovely than the song of the birds
when they sing in the early morning light.
And always they seem to sing of you.
Oh, you are beyond the beauty of all creatures
and in the softness of your heart .
Oh, there is none like you, nor can ever be.
Oh, you are the one sure foundation of my soul
and within me passion's fire does burn
and it burns deep into sinew, and joint, and bone.
And its fire burns deep into my soul.
Oh, my unspeakable love for you!
Oh, love from a place beyond all knowing.
Oh, the passion that erupts from deep inside me!
I am slain by your beauty!
And have become like a dead man
through my passion and longing for you
more than this poor earthly frame can hold.
Oh, I long to walk with you forever
and though the whole world were a desert wasteland
it would be as the green fields of heaven
when you are by my side.
And let me walk with you
for as long as my life and soul shall last.
