I know they talk in your head,
saying you've ******* up again.
You're a liar, you call it quits
and they put you to shame.
They wouldn't know your story,
it's one sided they've heard.
You wouldn't try to lay those cards either,
you wouldn't tell them you've been hurt.

Fate or destiny must have heard a prayer or two, it tried to intervene.
It made you cross path with another,
to show you the happiness he'll bring.
You held back a little, thinking this isn't what you deserve,it has never happened before.
Like it's too good to be true,
yet with faith you'd like to see what's in store.

They wouldn't leave your head,
they tell you how heartless you've been.
They guilt you in to walk back,
telling you this isn't what it seems.
And still you wouldn't budge,
you defy those voices in your head.
You shut them out from the walls you've built, you wouldn't let them interrupt fate.

And now you know, it's exactly the right thing to do.
This path crossed was written for you.
It's just you and him.
Defying gravity.
