A rose was laid upon the earth Where love gone by now resides The summer breeze blows gently by And memories now soar high Into the blue sky above And rejoin their eternal love Of his departed wife Tears fall from his cheeks Pain and sorrow now rack his life His loneliness cuts like a knife To his knees he falls and sobs And the sky turns grey
