Writing is like dancing and the type of dance is like the genre or topic of what you are writing about. You take one step at a time by learning the dance, it’s the same as writing-- you must collect your thoughts and put them in order before beginning. In both dancing and writing you have an audience that is eager to watch and listen to you perform.
Many times you may struggle with the move or the thoughts of writing, but the creative process with make it all come together. Each time you learn that step or dance move, it’s as though you are learning how to write putting all your thoughts on paper. Dancing is not easy and neither is writing, but you have to give it your best and work hard at it to become better and take each move one by one. When you hear the music, sometimes it flows through you and your body just starts moving gracefully to the music. In writing it’s like when you think of an idea and those thoughts just come to you for that topic. When you are getting better at the dance and you feel confident to perform in front of an audience, you get to the stage and you perform. It’s a sense of completion when all the pieces come together like in writing, you may feel like your thoughts are not coming to you, but in the end you get up on stage and share your best piece with the audience and they get chills the kind that make the hair on your arms stand up like soldiers at attention. Then in the end when you are finished you feel relieved and accomplished that you didn’t give up and that everyone loved it. So in the long run, writing can be about anything that you put your mind to just like how writing is like dancing to me. Everyone may struggle in certain points but you just have to keep pushing yourself like with writing and dancing.
