Our Wall
The little girl within you …
The little boy in me
Long so for affection,
Oh most desperately.
But scars of old relationships
The wounds from he or she
Never ever really heal
They bleed eternally.
So you and I a wall have built
To keep the hurt away
Trust is non-existent
Love can’t come to stay
Emotionally were we *****,
Mentally were we scarred
Left behind the wreckage
Of being a discard
We’re told time will heal us
We’re told “just wait awhile”
But existing is so difficult
Here in self-exile.
So … we keep our chins up
Hoping not to fall
But in the meantime …
‘nother brick goes in Our Wall.
